A Season of Steady Progress

As the record-breaking hot summer of 2026 has given way to a mild autumn, we have made progress on a number of tasks and been pleased to receive much good news along the way.

The core of the work has been keeping the footpaths along The Bourne valley in good order with particular attention to clearing the many flights of steps clear of fallen leaves, something much appreciated by mums walking the kids to school. Other sites have not been forgotten, and it was good that the professional work on the Lynch Gate was completed just before we led a HODs walk through the Old Church Yard at the beginning of October. This site had of course been our entry in the Its Your Neighbourhood scheme this year, and we have been pleased in recent days to receive a Certificate of Excellence from the Town Council to mark our contribution to the town’s outstanding In Bloom campaign. We also congratulate our individual members who received Farnham awards. They were Myung Hye Chun for her work at Wrecclesham and Kathie Dearsley and Richard Sandars for their gardens.

Not all our work has been physical because we have also updated our Health and Safety documentation. With particular reference to Safeguarding children.

We shall now be building on that steady progress and are already well ahead with preparing for fresh planting of flowers and bulbs for Spring 2027.
